Puspalata Rath is the Founder, Managing Trustee and Chairperson of AaraOne Foundation, a newly constituted public charitable trust dedicated to women’s health, empowerment, and environmental responsibility. The Foundation is a mission-driven initiative shaped by her personal commitment to community welfare, with a focused emphasis on breast cancer awareness and preventive healthcare.
A Science graduate (B.Sc.) with a Diploma in Computer Applications, she moved to Chennai after marriage and gradually developed a deep interest in structured community engagement. Though at an early stage in her formal journey within the social development ecosystem, her leadership is anchored in empathy, personal conviction, and a clearly articulated social purpose.
The untimely loss of her father and sister-in-law due to cancer profoundly influenced her perspective on healthcare awareness and early detection. These experiences exposed critical gaps in preventive screening, timely diagnosis, and family-level support systems particularly affecting women. This realization became the foundational catalyst for establishing AaraOne Foundation.
In her capacity as Managing Trustee, she is responsible for articulating the Trust’s vision, instituting governance and compliance mechanisms, and initiating its foundational programmes.
Recognizing the importance of domain expertise, she actively seeks guidance and collaboration from medical practitioners, social development professionals, and corporate partners to ensure that the Trust evolves on principles of transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.
Puspalata Rath reflects emerging leadership in the non-profit sector-rooted in lived experience, guided by compassion, and committed to building a sustainable and credible platform for long-term community well-being.
